Savršen spoj zdravlja, okusa i jednostavnosti!

- 2 jaja
Priprema:
Pomiješajte sve mokre sastojke, zatim dodajte suhe.
Polako i uz često okretanje.
- lako probavljive (možete eksperimentirati i s drugim vrstama brašna)
Roditeljski savjet
Ako imate izbirljive male gurmane – uključite ih u pripremu!

Savory Cottage Cheese Pancakes – A Healthy Snack for Kids
Parents, if you’re on the lookout for healthy and delicious recipes your kids will love these savory cottage cheese pancakes will quickly become a family favorite! They’re perfect for breakfast, snack time, or even a light dinner. The preparation is so simple, you can even make them together with your little ones.
This recipe uses cottage cheese, which is rich in protein, spelt flour that’s gentle on little tummies, and plant-based milk as an alternative to cow’s milk. A perfect combination of health, taste, and simplicity!
If you love cottage cheese, you might also enjoy trying our protein balls with cheese and seeds.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup flour (I used spelt type 630)
- ½ cup cottage cheese (approx. 200 g)
- 1 tbsp olive oil (you can use melted butter or coconut oil)
- A pinch of salt (omit for children under 12 months)
- 2 tbsp plant-based milk (I used oat milk)
- ½ tsp organic baking powder
- 2 eggs
Preparation:
Mix all the wet ingredients, then add the dry ones. The batter should be thick. If you’re not a fan of cottage cheese crumbles that might crisp up in the pan, you can briefly blend the wet ingredients into a smooth mix—but we love that bit of texture!
Heat a non-stick pan and grease it with ghee, coconut oil, or whatever your family prefers. Cook the pancakes slowly over low heat, flipping them often. Once they puff up like American-style pancakes, gently press them down a bit so they don’t stay too thick—this ensures they’re cooked through evenly.
Why these cottage cheese pancakes are great for kids:
- Can be made salt-free for babies
- Easy to digest (you can also experiment with different flours)
- Soft and moist—perfect for little hands and mouths
- Great for lunchboxes—even when served cold!
For toddlers, we recommend serving them sliced into strips or small bite-sized pieces. You can find more age-appropriate serving ideas on the excellent app Solid Starts.
Serve with a light, homemade spread—like mashed avocado or bean dip—for added variety.
How to serve these pancakes/fritters with cheese?
We love them with a cup of homemade kefir, but they also pair wonderfully with hummus, veggie spreads, or soft roasted veggie purées. They’re just as tasty the next day—simply store them in the fridge and gently reheat in a pan or oven.
Parent Tip:
If your little ones are picky eaters, get them involved in the cooking process! Let them crack the eggs, stir the batter, or flip the pancakes. When kids help in the kitchen, they’re more likely to enjoy the food they helped prepare!
